SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Application for a scholarship can be requested from the Program Manager in Egypt by email or regular mail. Applications are collected, evaluated and Scholarship are offered according to availability of funds.

The Scholarship Manager is a volunteer who promotes the scholarship program in Egyptian schools and universities. She collects the applications from students, screens them according to the following criteria, and sends them to the Foundation head office in Vancouver for review and final approval.

Another volunteer will be working with students to help them develop their school club. She is currently being trained to undertake this task.

Letter from the student describing an act of kindness (s)he did for the community (a neighbor, a friend, an elder, a colleague at a school, etc..).
Family Income

Info about the family income per family member.
Letter of commitment   A letter from the student that (s)he pledges to promote and do acts of kindness and report that to the Program Manager in Egypt.
Directors Review
10%
Review and rank screened applications for priority purposes.

The successful candidates will receive a letter from the Program Manager informing them that they won the scholarship, the amount of the funds, the name of the scholarship donor, and the date to receive the funds. They will be requested to send a letter or an email to the donor to thank him/her for their help and continue to be in touch with him/her if the donor so wishes.
